Our commitment

Barcelona Vibe is committed to making its content accessible to people with disabilities. We put ongoing effort and resources into making the site easy and comfortable to use for everyone, in the belief that every person deserves to browse with dignity, equality, comfort and independence. The site is designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

How accessibility shows up on the site

  • Semantic page structure and a logical heading order;
  • Full keyboard navigation, with a clear focus indicator on every element;
  • A "skip to content" link at the top of every page;
  • Colour contrast that meets level AA;
  • Options for high contrast, grayscale and highlighted links;
  • Text resizing and a readable-font option;
  • An option to stop animations, plus respecting the system reduced-motion preference;
  • Alternative text for images and descriptions for icons and interactive elements;
  • Accessible menus, forms, accordions and dialogs using ARIA.

The accessibility menu

A round accessibility button appears in the corner of the screen. Selecting it opens a menu of personal adjustments including larger text, high contrast, grayscale, highlighted links, a readable font and stopping animations. You can navigate the menu with the keyboard, and pressing Esc closes it. Your choices are saved in your browser for future visits. This menu was built by us specifically for the network and is not a third-party plugin.

Ongoing effort

We keep improving accessibility. Despite our efforts, some parts of the content may not yet be fully adapted to the strictest standards, or may rely on third-party services (such as maps and booking) whose accessibility depends on the external provider. We work to find and fix any issue as quickly as we can.

Accessibility on the site is tuned for the leading browsers in their current versions: Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari.
